"Aaaah..! Luxurious..!" Life behind Ariesplex SL Cinemas

Well, the 35-year old 4-screen SL Theatres in Trivandrum has now changed. The Future has begun..! It is now a 6 Screen State of the Art-Multiplex, naming, "Ariesplex* SL Theatres" which offers the best of all across the world..! The 'Screen' initials is in the series 'Audi' which people think as luxurious because well, one of the expensive cars in the world is Audi :)..!
*" This theatre is now owned by Sohan Roy, managed by film-maker, B Unnikrishnan. This theatre is also related to the Post-Production Filmmaking Facility, 'Aries Vismayas Max' which is also one of Sohan Roy's. "

Audi 1
The famous 'Athulya' screen is now 'Audi 1'. It has undergone into a huge, metamorphic 72"x30" Mega D-MAX 3D Double 4K Projection Screen (w/ luminance of 60,000). It will also feature the latest of Sound Systems, a 64-channel, Dolby Atmos. It is not over yet. It is now South India's Largest, Widest Screen with 653 seats and 42 Recliner Sofas..! This renovation promises us that we watch the movie at the same/more level we watch at home.
A Glimpse on the Recliners..!

Audi 2 & 3'Athira/Aswathy' now Audi 2/Audi 3 features a Silver QUBE 2K 3D Screen along with a 5.1 DTS System. There are 153 seats and 51 Non-Recliner Sofas in Audi 2. Audi 3 features the same System, but, with 70 seats only. According to Aries, Audi 3 will be mostly used on Screening and Exhibitons.

Audi 2's Cozy Sofas..!
The Other Screens
'Anjali' will be divided into 3 Screens, Audi 4,5 & 6. Out of 6 Screens, only 3 Screens are fully capable of functioning for now. The other 3 screens will start functioning in 2-5 months.

Other FacilitiesThe complex is renovated with an Escalator, Elevator, and a Food Court. And yeah, how can we miss our famous 'Post-Movie Walk hair-pining across the hall. I'm glad that the team just repainted it. :') Not forgetting to mention, Ariesplex SL Cinemas is also linked with BookMyShow..! They also have a Facebook Page and their own Website..!

Day 1 - Jurassic WorldThe day it reopened, June 12, i went on for the 7.00pm show for Jurassic World at Audi 1. Later that day, the counter for tickets was also cozy for the staff. Before getting inside Audi 1, i was standing in a long queue, to get inside. As i reached closer, i noticed that the 3D Glasses were Black, Scratchless, Temporary Paper/Plastic Glasses. And do you know why they gave us those glasses? Because the Original XPAND 3D Permanent Glasses worth 2-3k/glass has not reached the complex yet. That was a bit of a shame for a start. I was on the last row of the EXECUTIVE Seats. The moment i sat there, i was home. Jurassic World has a flat screen format. Widening it would spoil the movie, so they had to play with flat screen. The Sound, the bass, the crispiness, everywhere, Dolby Atmos. It was pure reality. :O The screen's resolution, pixel density. (WoW)

Day 2 - Jurassic World, AgainAgain, i went on with the 7pm show for Jurassic World the next day. (Cinema Pranthan :P)
This time, i recieved White glasses. It was a bit suspicious because the Platinum Customers recieved Black ones. Hmmmm. The same story as Day 1 except, 3D Problems. This glass had reversed glasses on the frame(It could be another problem). Everyone went on with it, except me and 3 of my friends, we were struggling to watch it as the Person/Part/Object that has to be 3D(Closer) is reversed from the opposite. All i did on that day was sleep while the others watch. :)

Day 3 - Spy
Another day at the cozy place, 3pm, SPY at Audi 2.
From Day 1, i saw a familiar-machine-like-thing at the opposite corner from the elevator. Today, i remembered what it is. It is the BookMyShow Ticket Vending Machine that was there at PvR Bangalore.! This is the only machine, at the theatre, also the 1st one to be in Trivandrum. But nobody has used it. I was ready to vend my tickets but i've already exchanged at the counter. Next time..! Audi 2, was more like Autumn-Nature. It was filled with Dark, Light and different types of Brown everywhere. I was a GOLD Customer.
The moment i sat, i'm at Vivanta..! :P (by Taj) The movie was fabulous and was a great start at Audi 2.

Day 4 - Terminator: Genisys

I was too excited to be on the recliners, and i got myself a Platinum Ticket for 3pm. This time i was kind of excited to vend the ticket from the machine, but i see no machine. "why, no machine? Why?!" It was switched off and hidden behind a banner of SPY :P Most of the people in Trivandrum don't know how to use these machines these days. So they, had to turn it off for a moment. Simply Touching on the system, torturing it, smashing the Touchscreen by kids, i wonder when these people would learn about the Future. :P
Atlast, The mighty XPAND Glasses have reached Ariesplex. Phew, that was short.
As i entered, the theatre, i didn't know how to recline it. It would be kind of a shame to me if i asked the staff on how to recline it. Struggling to find it and alas i go up-pPPPP..!!
I found 2 buttons on the right side of the seat, hidden perfectly, safe, from damage. :)I was on Seat Number RA-14, The last row and the middle, perfect seat for a lonely guy to watch..! I do recommend RA-14. :) The movie was a bit short from the previous ones but what i did enjoy mostly was the seat itself. :')

Day 5 - Minions
The day, where i went on to see the 1st Animated film to be released at Ariesplex. It was Audi 2. Movie was sharp..! Sofas ...! Aaaaahh..!

Day 6 - Madura NarangaSitting at home with a huge power cut, Booooring..!, BookMyShow, Pay, All Done. It was Ramzan and it was a family movie for the Muslims. The movie is not my kind, as i don't watch much from Malayalam Family Movies so basically, i went there to rest for the day in the cold, comfy place. :) I have made a vow that if i go for a movie/i wanna rest, i will be at Ariesplex SL Cinemas.
Day 7 - Ant-ManAnd it was the end of Phase 2 from Marvel Cinematic Universe..! Ant-Man was such a movie that was related to some parts of other movies in the MCU, which was just what needed to end Phase 2. I was about to book 4 tickets the day before for GOLD unfortunately, we can't sit together. Since today was a nasty day, energy wasted, i thought i'd go alone for the day. BookMyShow, Pay, Done. The vending machine still dead, staff increasing..! Busy day for these guys with Baahubali in Audi 1 Housefull, Audi 2 GOLD housefull, Executive, well, almost. :P Well, Ant-Man was meant to be in Dolby Atmos, and it was sad that it wasn't in Audi 1. Audi 1 has 4/5 shows daily for Baahubali, but it is a bit short for an awesome theatre. It would be a huge pleasure if they could've added 2 shows for Ant-Man in Audi 1. that is, one at early morning and the other for late night. As said the movie was perfection but i noticed a huge difference this time. I've been doing a small research on "Dolby Atmos at Home" lately and this time, Audi-2 wasn't 5.1 DTS Practically. Sound db that reach the same in Audi 1 being the same in Audi 2 was too much, but, Theoretically, it transformed into Dolby Atmos..! The sound that comes off the speakers bounces on to the ground and on to the ceiling, making it Dolby Atmos. It was perfection, almost the same as Audi 1..! Today, was a memorable moment in my Movie side of life. :')

Next-Up, Pixels, MI5, Transporter, Agent 47 and a lot more..!

I would say that this was more than a right thing to renovate such an old theatre into a cozy one. Thanks a lot Team Aries..!

Gracefully,
Amal

BBCh ITT 2015, Bangalore..!

So this was the 1st race to be at and the one im good at the ITT..!

'ITT or Individual Time Trial is a race over a relatively shorter distance, where cyclists start their race one by one in fixed intervals of 30 sec or 1-2 mins, and are not allowed to make use of the slipstream of a rider in front. The fastest cyclist wins the race'
How i Started Racing.

Well i'm the youngest rider in Trivandrum Bikers Club. So Anoop Kutty, asked me to go along with him for a 130km ride on a roadie. So i rented a roadie. The next day, i was hiding behind his wheels and completed the 130kms under 5 hours at a speed of 27kph. The hardest part was coming back, The Hot Steaming Sun..!
So i decided on getting a Merida Scultura 200 and start racing..!

Training.

There was not much of training though. All i did was loop shankumugham and kovalam - kazhakuttam a couple of times and that's pretty much it.! :P

Bangalore.

Anoop Kutty also joined for the race. We formed as Crank TBC Racing Team, by Crank Cycling Joint. We took off in a train on Friday evening, getting dropped by our former Team Director, Praveen. Well travelling with non-padded bike bags in trains is a big risk. Though we didnt have much probs with travelling as there wasn't much of a crowd. :) On Saturday Morning, we reached Bangalore. Im at Bangalore for the 1st time. Ashok Kumar, our local fan picked us at the station.

1st time at Bangalore..! Sleepy..!

Well due to a few reasons that i shouldn't mention here, we slept at 10pm to wake up at 4am. Eventually i was not sleepy in the morning at all. Had some awesome breakfast to gear up before the race.

The Race.

In my category, there were 7 riders in which, only 5 show up.
The 1st one to start is a Aman, a casual rider in bangalore on his Bianchi Cameleote.
The 2nd one was Sreenath L from our former state, Kerala, showed up as Team Carrera from Cochin on his Carrera Veleno.
The 3rd one was Pranit from Raleigh.
The 4th one was me.
Last 5th, Vishwesh from Trek Firefox on his Trek 1.5
Sreenath L from Team Carrera.
Me enjoying the view. :P
 15kms done..!

Warm Up.

Warm Up was kind of dead. We Reached at the Venue a bit late, so i couldn't warm-up.
There are two reasons that i wouldn't win for the race;
1. Im not comfortable in the cold. Asthma..
2. No Warm-Up means SHUT UP LEGS...!

Course.

The Race Course was mostly rolling with short climbs. I went as aero as possible but in the 1st half i slowed down a few times due to the lack of coldness. Vishwesh overtook me and shouted "Stay Aerodynamic..!" I managed to get an average speed of 36kph during the 1st half. The U-Turn was well maintained. Just like he said, Slow and Steady wins the race. :P

2nd Half.

The 2nd Half was completely filled with crosswinds. I dehydrate a lot and the one mistake that i made, 2 water bottles. My water was finished and i suffered a lot in the end. I overtook Aman, and finished strongly, sweating..!

The Results.

The Podium was Earned by Sreenath from Cochin, Vishwesh and Pranit.
I came 4th.

Learned a lot of lessons during the race.

Next Race.

So i couldn't participate for the TTT yesterday due to the lackness of team members and xams.
I'll be there for the Upcoming 100k Road Race.

Will YOU be there?

AK, out...!
